“The quantum era is reshaping cybersecurity faster than most businesses realize, and organizations must prepare to secure their data against emerging threats”
This is the compelling message Janne Hirvimies, Chief Technology Officer at QuantumGate, delivered during his keynote address and panel appearance at the Quantum Innovation Summit 2025 in Dubai in February.
“Many organizations are already running late,” he said talking about cybersecurity in the quantum age. “They’re often dealing with decades’ worth of sensitive data, and some adversaries are already harvesting it.”
Hirvimies emphasized the critical need for businesses to proactively adopt quantum- safe cryptographic solutions, highlighting that delaying action increase vulnerability to future quantum-enabled cyberattacks.
“The quantum era is here, and migration will take time,” he said. “In fact, it may be one of the biggest data migrations organizations have faced. There is no silver bullet. Organizations need to begin working on their inventories and strategies now.”
The Quantum Innovation Summit brought together global leaders and innovators to explore how quantum technologies can address key challenges, including cybersecurity and sustainability.
Janne also shared how QuantumGate is supporting organizations through this transition with practical solutions and products. He noted that QuantumGate’s Cryptographic Discovery Tool (CDT) is a good starting point: It creates an inventory of an organization’s cryptographic assets and evaluates their criticality so that businesses can identify vulnerabilities and prioritize their migration to quantum-safe cryptographic protocols.
“Organizations need to recognize that the current era of cryptography will end soon,” he said. “We can help them understand what to deploy and when, ensuring they're prepared for the quantum era.”
Meanwhile, at the QuantumGate exhibition booth, the team showcased its different solutions including CDT, QSphere, and Salina its most recent product, which helps organizations uncover and monitor cryptographic assets.
Visitors witnessed firsthand demonstrations illustrating how the tool enables businesses to efficiently transition to quantum-resilient security protocols, safeguarding critical data in an increasingly quantum-capable world.
“Organizations are facing one of the biggest cybersecurity shifts yet,” Hirvimies concluded. “Those who act now will stay ahead.” Next, QuantumGate will participate in the RSA Conference 2025, which will take place April 28-May 1 in San Francisco.
